  1. these are really great pieces of advice, and something that we should create a habit with. I often wonder why emotional intelligence, and emotional awareness is so difficult for many Americans. Do we deny this process, or is there another reason? I'm personally not sure myself.

    1. Hello Rebecca, It is so difficult to have self awareness, and the only way you can have emotional intelligence is to begin with awareness. I read the road less traveled by Scott Peck, and he talks about disassociation. I think that it was key for me. I disassociate myself from anything the moment I feel pain. Scott writes about this, and it actually starts in childhood. I now try to stay in the present and deal with the moment, no matter how painful. It is better to practice this then to have to go back and deal with the pain ten years from now. Thanks for pointing this out Rebecca:)

  2. "Denial is not just a river in Egypt." No idea who said that originally, but it's one of my favorites. I think one of my most profound and helpful self-discoveries was admitting to myself that I am an extremely emotional being. That self-recognition has led me to a higher place personally. I'm not sure why it's so hard for most of us as Rebecca asks, but I have a feeling that it's because it's just too damn hard for us to deal with on a regular basis. For me, though, I found it too damn hard not to. Thanks for the helpful ideas, Sandy.

    1. Hello Adam, Cheesy but cute. I think we all can be an ostrich with our heads in the sand sometimes. Self recognition is the ultimate high place. Like I said to Rebecca, it is my nature to disassociate myself from pain, because it is so hard to deal with unless you have the tools, even then, it is still difficult. I think it is wonderful to be an emotional being, especially when you have self recognition, and operate on higher ground. I must add, after saying hello to you yesterday, us girls talked about your beautiful eyes, with such intelligence behind them. Thanks Adam:)

  3. These are very helpful tips to living a less stressful life everyday. I think this could tie in with yoga and excercise in a lot of ways. The listing of steps to take was a great recommendation.
